A Whopping 72

A good thirty minutes (or more), and I've written a whopping 72 words. Yep.

Let this be a lesson to all you who go to camp. When you haven't written in NINE days, finding your flow doesn't just happen. I don't know what I was expecting, but I had hoped I would be able to jump right back in. Just like, "Hey, I'm back! Let's keep going."

Not. Ugh, this is difficult.

So far, I've checked what's showing at the dollar theatre next week (Ooooh, Letters to Juliet!) and called a friend that I knew was on vacation. I've disabled my wi-fi at least three times, but it didn't really help because I'm really good at re-enabling it.

So, here I am. Trying to write and realizing how very niave I was to think I could write at the rate I was last week. But that's okay. I'll keep trying and sitting here and calling people on vacation. I'm a writer, and writers write...even when they've been on hiatus.

How about you? I hope the summer schedule isn't getting to you like it's getting to me! How do you get back in the groove?

I've been at this music festival, and my writing definitely has suffered for it... I don't really have as much time to sit down and write as I would like, and when I do get on the computer I check facebook. Or I argue with men friends about the benefits of twitter.
