Alex Pettyfer Is Number Four

So, back in August, Carly at Writing From the Tub reviewed I Am Number Four.

At the time, I said, "Hey, that looks cool. I think I would like that. Need to get it when it comes out." I  loved the way the tagline and the title interacted, especially on what I guess is the US cover:

Three are dead.
I am number four.

Doesn't that just give you chills?

I thought I had all the time in the world to read it. Yeah, Carly mentioned something about a movie deal with a 2011 release date, but I didn't really listen.

Guess what I saw when I hopped over to IMDB this morning. That's right: One of their little flash-ads is I Am Number Four, sci-fi thriller. The guy looks like Dominic Monaghan, which was why my eye paused (yeah, whatever, I'm still a LotR nerd), and then I see the title. And then I see that it's not Dom, it's Alex Pettyfer.

Despite the fact that none of my friends know who he is, and those who heard about the Alex Rider movie thought it looked cheesy, I am quite the Alex Pettyfer fan.

Rather, I'm an Alex Rider fan. (You do know who Alex Rider is, right? Teenage super-spy invented by Anthony Horowitz. One of my many literary heartthrob characters. I mean, I had a crush on him before Alex Pettyfer brought him to the silver screen.)

And now Alex Rider/Alex Pettyfer is in a new movie that actually looks good! (I was trying to get my hopes up about Beastly, but it was an effort. Though I still will see it, don't worry.) He's in a movie that has the best tagline ever! I'm super stoked right now! It's been a long time since I've gotten to be excited about a movie...after Dawn Treader, I'm not sure I have anything else on tap. (And I'm not so sure I'm that excited about Dawn Treader either...)

So, go ahead. Have you read I Am Number Four? Excited about the movie adaption? Are you an Alex Rider fan like me? What'd you think of the movie? Do you not care at all about my Alex Pettyfer gushing? Tell me so...and tell me about the best/worst movie adaption of a book you've ever seen. :)

I haven't heard about I am number four but the logline does give me chills and I'll have to look into it! I have heard of the Alex Rider movies (he was cute) so I'll be on the lookout for him too!:)
