Wake-Up Time

My writing-accountability-partner {whom I should introduce} suggested that we push the limits this week. I've been committed to an hour a day; she's been committed to more. "Let's do three hours a day this week," she said, "as a back to school push."

"Okay," I said.

Here's something you should know: I can write for three hours in one day. I can write for three hours a day for two days. But an entire 5-day week?!?!?! Never been able to accomplish that.

Yet here I am. Three hours and 20 minutes for yesterday, and hopefully the same today. I've been waking up earlier. It's helped, you should try it. Reason being that the bro is now going to school after 8 years of homeschooling {that's a whole 'nother post}...which means that we actually have early wake-up times now {I had wake-up times before; they just weren't early.}. Which means that I'm getting so much more done.

Who knew?

The moral of the story is to consider waking up earlier. You get more done. The end. Now I'm off to write 3 hours worth of words. I finally finished editing the fourth chapter yesterday - it took me like a week. Probably more.

What's your goal for the week? It doesn't have to be huge. :)

Good point. ;) I recently had to tell myself to start going to sleep earlier--I had tried staying up until 11:30-12:00 writing, then get up at 6:00 to start my school day. But I wasn't getting much done.

Then wham, in the midst of one of my bleary-eyed attempts at editing, I thought, "You know...if I was well-rested, I'd probably be more productive."

So I slept eight hours last night, and lo and behold...I'm more productive. *slaps forehead*

Well, I guess sometimes it just takes that extra shove to get us to do what we know we need to do, huh? Like sleep. Or wake up.

Well done for creating more time to write! And it sounds like you have a wonderful writing-accountability-partner. :)
