Daily Limit

Three hours Friday. Three hours Monday. Three hours Tuesday. I've done times like these before, but never this many in a row. It feels good.

I think.

Honestly, I alternate between, "I'm making so much progress!" And "Are you serious? That's all I've done?"

But the times feel good. I'm trying to figure out what I've done differently. My schedule hasn't really changed, although I am getting up a bit earlier. But there's something else--I have a daily limit: three hours.

It helps. It really does. Instead of feeling like each day is a day with unending writing, writing until my brain gives out, I know there is an end-goal. No more after three hours. And because of that, I'm actually getting more done than I have the past few weeks.

Of course, on Friday I'm getting my wisdom teeth out. So the whole victorious schedule thing is probably going to dissolve.

But I'll get to watch movies. And White Collar. And continue reading Anna Karenina on my Kindle, which is a post for another day. Suffice it to say--that book is long.

Sometimes it does help to limit our writing time. It helps us to get down to what needs done.
