What Was Missed

Wow! Long time no blog! I know I've missed much, but I know there are things I've missed that I don't even know I've missed; this makes me the most sad.

I do know that I missed Justine Dell's blog tour...after I promised to play a part. She's oh-so-graciously forgiven me, but I still feel awful. This blog owes her one.

I do know that I was missed by Katie Mills (aka Creepy Query Girl) back in November. You have no idea what an honor it was to be mentioned!

I miss the blogosphere so much. I miss blogging. I miss the constant sharing of encouragement, ideas, motivation, fun, and celebration. I miss doing life with y'all.

I don't know if you've missed me as much as I've missed you (well, besides the lovely Katie Mills), but if you want an update, here it is: Those Who Trespass: ABNA (Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award) 2013 Entry. Yep. I entered in January, and so far I've made it to the quarter-finals with only ninety-nine other young adult novels. As of right now, you can go download a sample of my book and read it on your Kindle. {Do I know this from personal experience? Maybe.} You can review it. You can give it stars.

Even after a couple weeks, this is still so surreal. My book can get stars. On Amazon. Whaaat?! Amazon stars are, like, special stars. They're...real. As real as those beautiful gold rating stars can be on the Internet.

Not to mention the fact that it will get reviewed by Publisher's Weekly. This is just...crazy.

Of course, all this has to happen right when I'm in the thick of college {when one is in college, one is in the thick of college, no two ways around it}. No time to celebrate...but on the upside, I also have little time to agonize. Winning contests takes a backseat to passing differential equations.

Am I back? I hope so. I think so. Maybe. No promises. But there's a good chance that the answer is yes, because I discovered the Blogger app for iPhone. Blogger app + daily bus ride = a good chance of the return of Melody.

Congratulations on your ABNA success. That's really great.
