I got an email the other day asking me which 2010 James Patterson release was my favorite. I'm not sure I ever answered, but I am sure that I sat and stared at that email for quite some time. You mean, there was more than one? You mean, there were some in 2009 and some coming in 2011 to compare 2010 with?
I saw the subject line of that email and thought, "Rub it in, rub it in." (In fun. I like James Patterson.) The fact that he had multiple books out in 2010. The fact that he had just as many published in 2009 and coming in 2011. I never thought about that before, the ridiculous output by Patterson and Grisham and Sparks and Steele. But having written my own book, having tortuously labored over making it good, I maintain a little bit of awe when realizing that people do that many times a year.
(Yeah, I know there are probably ghost writers involved for some of the above authors. This post is studiously ignoring that because I know very little about it.)
I listed a few superhero writers up there that do the impossible of publishing multiple books a year. What authors make your jaw drop with their never-ending pen?

I have to check this out for my 11 yo. My YA books are too old for him, and they all have female protagonists.
